Equipment Wanted
We are urgently in need of some additional pieces of office and field equipment. In particular, we are looking for a rugged laptop suitable for field work, two-way radio handsets, and portable power supplies. We are happy to take donations but are prepared to pay a modest sum for equipment purchased.
Please note that generally speaking we are only interested in equipment in full working order.
We are also looking for second-hand office furniture - especially desks, tables and chairs - and one or two comfortable chairs.
Financial Support
We are also happy to receive donations linked to specific projects, no matter how small. We can guarantee monies donated will not be squandered on large executive salaries, business lunches, hotel accomodation, air travel, private gifts, political donations in brown envelopes or corporate 'entertainment'. Contributions towards paid work will be limited to a nominal subsistance wage €10 per hour for research related work.
Owing to the unforeseen high financial burden of publishing the the Mayo Energy Audit, and losses made on Sustainability #3, the Sustainability Institute incurred debts of approximately €15,000 during 2008, mainly in the form of unpaid wages for research. Also, some money borrowed privately in order to cover publication costs is still outstanding. However, this debt is expected to be cleared by May 2010.
The Mayo Energy Audit, although a pioneering document and the first study of its type to be carried out in Ireland, has been largely shunned by offical bodies and mainstream media. The audit accurately predicated Ireland's economic crash and also the collapse of corporate investment in a wide range of renewable energy technologies. For further details click below.
