Genetically modified crops and other organisms represent an unknowable and unquantfiable risk to ecosystems, biodiversity, food security, and human health.
The Sustainability Institute is alarmed at the way vested interests from universities and large agro-chemical and/or biotech corporations are intensively lobbying politicians in order to further the GMO agenda.
The Instutute refutes all claims that GMOs can lead to greater food security and believes that they are more likely to lead to food catastrophe through reduced biodiversity and dependence on complicated supply chain routes controlled by a small number of international corporations only interested in company profits.
We therefore express our intractable opposition to GMOs. They are a form of insanity comparable to nuclear, chemical weapons, and indeed could easily be adopted as biological weapons to be deployed against civilian populations.
