Wind Turbine Construction Workshop 25th April to 1st May 2011

A 7 day hands-on, practical workshop looking at all aspects of wind turbine construction and installation: blade construction, alternator assembly, superstructure, electrics, mast design, assembly and erection.

The workshop will be facilitated by 3 tutors. During the workshop, a 3.6m diameter turbine rated at 1.4kW will be constructed and commissioned. The workshop will include an element of theory as well as the hands-on sessions. Comprehensive workshop notes will be provided.

Owing to the hands-on nature of the workshop, the number of participants is limited to 12. The workshop is non-residential but a simple lunch and hot drinks will be provided.

Some previous practical experience with low voltage power systems is recommended, but not essential.
